Subject RE: Memory error when running 'make load'
Date Thu, 18 Sep 2003 20:51:35 GMT

Also using WinXP environment.
However with system environment variables pre-set;
ANT_HOME=C:\Tools\apache-ant-1.5.3-1
J2EE_HOME=C:\Tools\j2sdkee1.3.1
JAVA_HOME=C:\Tools\j2sdk1.4.1_02
PATH=%ANT_HOME\bin;%J2EE_HOME%\bin;%AJAVA_HOME\bin;

Using command file referencing ant.bat with success..
[beg snip file: build-dbg.cmd]
set
CLASSPATH=C:\Tools\bsf-2_2\lib\bsf.jar;C:\Tools\rhino1_5R4_1\rhino.jar;C:\Tools\ant-contrib-0.3\lib\ant-contrib-0.3.jar
ant cmn.outadate.tgt.nm  -buildfile build.xml -logger org.apache.tools.ant.XmlLogger -verbose
-logfile build-dbg.log
[end snip file: build-dbg.cmd]

Perhaps your system is referencing the Msoft JVM
If you examine the resulting logfile it is possible to determine which version of Java is
being referenced.
Eg: <message priority="debug"><![CDATA[Detected Java version: 1.4 in: C:\Tools\j2sdk1.4.1_02\jre]]></message>

Does the standard ant.bat not work for you ?

Betreff: Memory error when running 'make load'

Environment is WinXP. I'm running ant 1.5.4, java 2 1.2.2. When I try to run a batch file
with the following lines:

set ANT_CLASSPATH=%ANT_HOME%/lib/ant.jar;%ANT_HOME%/lib/parser.jar;%ANT_HOME%/li
b/jaxp.jar;%JAVA_HOME%/lib/tools.jar

java -classpath "%ANT_CLASSPATH%" -Dant.home=%ANT_HOME% org.apache.tools.ant.Main %*

I get a java.exe error: 'The instruction at "0x500b974" referenced memory at "0x00000e7f"
The memory could not be
"read"'

Any idea as to what's happening?

Thanks,
Harry Boswell
