Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: AXISCPP-115
    Summary: Misleading error message
       Type: Bug

     Status: Unassigned
   Priority: Minor

    Project: Axis-C++

   Assignee:
   Reporter: Alexei Dets

    Created: Tue, 20 Jul 2004 3:13 PM
    Updated: Tue, 20 Jul 2004 3:13 PM
Environment: RedHat Linux 9

Description:
After installing server part of Axis C++ with Apache web server you can get an Axis welcome
page with the message: "deployment descripter not found".

First of all, don't you think that this should be "descriptor"? ;-)

But the real problem is the second - for me this message appears than Apache web server (and
so, Axis) has no write access to the logs (or log directory) specified in the axiscpp.conf.
It is very difficult to guess this from such error message...

Also may be log problems should not stop the Axis, just issue some warning message on the
welcome page?
