Client cannot handle '<' character and '>' characters while deserializing a returned
string.

e.g.
If server response contains:
<echoStringReturn xsi:type="xsd:string">hello&lt; world</echoStringReturn>

the client get the return value as:
< world

If server response contains:
<echoStringReturn xsi:type="xsd:string">hello&gt; world</echoStringReturn>

the client get the return value as:
> world
