Here is an overview of the issue:
        Key: AXIS-1489
    Summary: More powerful allowedMethods param
       Type: Improvement

     Status: Unassigned
   Priority: Minor

    Project: Axis

   Reporter: Marc Wilson

    Created: Tue, 3 Aug 2004 10:52 PM
    Updated: Tue, 3 Aug 2004 10:52 PM

At the moment the allowedMethods parameter just takes a list of the method names that the
service will expose.

Would if be possible to make this more powerfull and allow us to specify the method signatures
if we want, ie:

<parameter name="allowedMethods" value="method1 method2(java.lang.String)"/>

In the above example if there were the following methods available:

public void method2(String s)
public void method2(Long l)

only the one that takes a String param will be exposed. At the moment we have been able to
"get around" this issue by giving the methods we want to expose a unique WS suffix, but this
is annoying and makes the code unnecessarily untidy.
