What's in a word? What would be actual practical difference between streaming and streamable?

I think it's clear that tree based bindings (whether DOM, jdom or whatever) are more efficiently
layed on top of streaming (or streamable) processors than vice versa.

Considering the processing of the payload document, what's the tradeoff in using document
-> pull parser -> SAX rather than document -> SAX? Would a pull parser need to read
the entire document before generating the stream of SAX events?

Conversely, would basis the pipeline on SAX mean that pull based binders would be inefficient
or impossible to stack above?

Here is an overview of the issue:
        Key: AXIS-1498
Summary: AXIS2: pluggable XML transformations (JavaBeans2XML, XSD with JaxMe/JAXB, Castor,
XmlBeans, RelaxNG, ...)
       Type: Wish

     Status: Unassigned
   Priority: Major

    Project: Axis
             Basic Architecture

   Reporter: Aleksander Slominski

    Created: Fri, 6 Aug 2004 10:36 AM
    Updated: Thu, 19 Aug 2004 3:13 PM
Environment: ALL

allow to plug different XML<->Java object model transformations (and maybe also allow
them to be pipelined!)

that would make XML processing much more flexible and would allow users to choose how their
XML messages should be processed
