Appologies for the noise to board@, but I can't get through to and I assume the VP is subscribed here.

So, two issues:

1. I really don't believe that pmc lists should be subscriber-only. Moderated
if necessary, but not subscriber-only.

2. Please fix the problem with dist/ws/axis-c/ discussed below.

Subject: rsync problems caused by axis-c
Message-ID: <Pine.WNT.4.61.0408241918230.2644@bronfman504>
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: MULTIPART/MIXED; BOUNDARY="2308199-18472-1093389730=:2644"

This message is in MIME format. The first part should be readable text,
while the remaining parts are likely unreadable without MIME-aware tools.

Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=iso-8859-1; format=flowed
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8BIT

The directories under /www/ contain over 1/3
of all files under dist. This is causing a problem, because the amount of
time necessary to do an rsync up-to-date check is getting too large.

In particular, it is not appropriate to have extracted tarballs living in
the dist/ directory.

Please fix this problem. If it isn't done soon, I will ask the
infrastructure committee for approval to remove those files myself so we
can restore proper functioning of our mirrors.

It does; 16 sofar today; a bit much.

I inspected most of them: timeout without one file being transfered,
so it looks gathering the local list takes too long.

I set timeout to 1200; if it doesn't help, '' is in trouble.

If only the 'ws/axis-c/' RM would clean up ...
