I've seen this on tomcat too - aumenting the permgen size there works as well. Simply create
an evironment variable such as (example is for bash, of course permsize is the relevant part
in this example): 

export CATALINA_OPTS="-server -Xms256m -Xmx512m -Xincgc -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m"
