Subject Re: [jira] problem with netui-data:repeater tag (new to beehive)
Date Fri, 26 Oct 2007 19:42:09 GMT
Garlapati,

Seems like a good plan. The best place for these questions though
would be on the Beehive Users list rather than this Dev list. The
Beehive documentation includes information for someone new to Beehive.
There are tutorials in the documentation. Also the Beehive
distributions include samples.

For NetUI, start at...
http://beehive.apache.org/docs/1.0.2/netui/index.html

Does your upgraded application have form beans that extend the
FormData (now deprecated) and override the validate() method? If so,
does your Action annotation include a validationErrorForward property?
Note that an Action needs validation turned on by including the
validationErrorForward in the @Jpf.Action annotation.

There are a couple of ways you can do validation. NetUI provides
annotations for declarative validation. You can define rules for form
bean properties at either the Controller class, Action methods, or
FormBean getter methods for properties. These annotations are all
describe in the Beehive documentation on declarative validation...
http://beehive.apache.org/docs/1.0.2/netui/validation.html

Other ways for programmatic validation include implementing the NetUI
Validatable interface in your form bean or extending it from a Struts
ActionForm where you can override/implement the specific validate()
method in your form bean.

Hope that helps.
Carlin
