Subject [jira] [Created] (CELIX-335) Refactor deploying bundles with cmake
Date Thu, 07 Jan 2016 13:22:39 GMT
Pepijn Noltes created CELIX-335:

Summary: Refactor deploying bundles with cmake
                 Key: CELIX-335
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CELIX-335
             Project: Celix
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Pepijn Noltes
            Assignee: Pepijn Noltes

Currently deploying bundles is done with deploy.cmake files.
The parsing is seperated from the main CMakeLists.txt parsing.

This is problematic for a various reasons, including:
 - Disabling add_subdirectory or "unused" directories will still be included to parse deploy.cmake
files. Additional test statements need to be done.
 - A certain order of add_subdirectory to succesfully create deployments.

CMake support generator-expressions which in combination of the use of target properties makes
it possible to include deployment statements in the CMakeLists.txt files.
By use of generator expression it is more easily possible to extend/adapt the behaviour of
existing target and to refer to future targets/
This remove the need for addtional files, addtional "is option enabled" testing and the need
for a fixed order.
