Alejandro,
You haven't told us if the MySQL server is on the same server as management?
In all likelihood this is a MySQL permission issue - log in to it if you can and do a "select
user,host from mysql.user;" - I suspect you have set up "root@localhost", but not "root@@10.8.9.230"
or "root@%" - or if you are running management and MySQL separately possibly even "root@managementserverIP".
