Just a guess : could you try adding servlet.jar in a directory that's 
not in the standard servlet classpath (e.g. WEB-INF/morelibs) and add it 
in the "extra-classpath" servlet parameter (e.g. 
WEB-INF/morelibs/servlet.jar) ?
