OOOOOkay. Sorry, I get it now. For some reason it just wasn't clicking for me that your desktop
application *was* the Cordova application.

Sounds like this is a good fit for a custom plugin, but I'll leave it open and mark it for
the "OSX" platform in case anyone else is interested in picking it up.
