Subject [jira] Commented: (DIRSTUDIO-65) Data export "Returning Attributes" drop down field assist should work without typing any letter
Date Sat, 03 Mar 2007 11:06:50 GMT

Przemyslaw Rudzki commented on DIRSTUDIO-65:

After playing with it a bit more I can see that this functionality is a mixture of selecting
workspace (history) for Eclipse and field assist. I admit that after one gets to know it it
does the job really good. However, maybe having an additional dialog would make it more intuitive?
I was rather expecting a list of available attributes to choose from - not an empty list.
Maybe having a dialog similar to the page allowing to select object classes in the new entry
wizard that shows up after selecting [...] button? Maybe add another page to the wizard? I
understand that you probably want to keep number of open dialogs and pages at the minimum
so maybe it would be possible to put short (3-4 rows) list viewers on the dialog would do
the trick. Anyway, just a minor suggestion.

BTW. Me guilty ;-) of not reading the docs which explain the whole thing clearly.

> In the Data Export wizard it is only possible to choose returning attributes after at
least one letter has been entered. The drop down remains empty if no letter has been typed
in. I know that field assist in RCP needs a lot of improvement but maybe there is a way to
fix it.
