Subject [jira] [Created] (DIRKRB-742) Issue a warning when an EType is not found upon decoding a request body
Date Mon, 11 May 2020 08:38:00 GMT
Thomas Kountis created DIRKRB-742:
-------------------------------------

Summary: Issue a warning when an EType is not found upon decoding a request body
                 Key: DIRKRB-742
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRKRB-742
             Project: Directory Kerberos
          Issue Type: Improvement
    Affects Versions: 2.0.0
            Reporter: Thomas Kountis

When an EType is not identified/supported by apacheds-protocol-kerberos, then upon decoding
the request body (TGS in this case), the EType is formalized as an -1/UNKNOWN entry. Later
on, when this object is re-encoded for checksum verification purposes, a mismatch is caused,
and there is no evidence of what happened.

Reference: [https://github.com/hazelcast/hazelcast-enterprise/pull/3594]

It would be nice, to have a warning at the very least when an UNKNOWN is created, to help
easier debug this config issue.
