I think it makes sense to call it out deprecated, removing them is a separate issue. It will
help us get early feedback. A lot of feeds  will have just retention configured, so a majority
of feeds can be easily migrated to just use new definition. We have already decided to stop
accepting enhancements and non critical bug fixes to old methods, so I think it makes more
sense to officially announce it as well. Using a combination of old and new definitions is
not problematic in any way.
