You went with the abstract class version, that is good, IMHO.

Few issues:
  - I would drop the flags {{isLeft}} and {{isRight}}. The subclasses can track that, or you
can directly check via {{getClass()}}. Saves space.
  - In the type info, the arity is should one, as the type has but one element: left or right.
