   My understanding is that relative paths may make sense in setups like YARN or Mesos, where
the exact temp directories filled in dynamically by the Yarn/Mesos node upon starting the
TaskManager.
   
   It may even be that every TM has different temp dirs, because they look like `/data/yarn/node-id/executions-attempt-uuid/local/temp/`
or so.
