   > Just to be clear, this StreamTwoInputSelectableProcessor#processInput() should be
split into smaller methods before merging this PR regardless of the outer/inner loop discussion.
   
   I agree, and splitting after the performance problem has been solved which reduce the interference
to performance tuning.
