Patch attached. The assert is bogus, eg its valid for the target of the link to have scheme
hdfs and while the fs of the path may be viewfs. The fs of the path gets updated when links
are encountered but it gets updated to the fs of the path of the link, not it's target (which
may cross a fs boundary).
