Subject [jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-14199) TestFsShellList.testList fails on windows: illegal filenames
Date Mon, 20 Mar 2017 05:27:41 GMT

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-14199?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15932178#comment-15932178

John Zhuge commented on HADOOP-14199:

In [MSDN Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces|https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa365247(v=vs.85).aspx#naming_conventions],
control character {{\b}} and {{\t}} are not explicitly forbidden, so I think they are allowed.
I don't have any Windows host, will verify once I set up one.

If they are allowed, could the issue be the filename with escape passed to NativeIO? Windows
does NOT allow backslash.
