Steve Loughran commented on HADOOP-14603:
-----------------------------------------

I've seen the SDK 2 is out, I don't want to run to it in 3.3 because even a 1.x update has
been trouble. I think I'd rather sort out the async IO for stream read and multipart IO, while
looking at the AWS code to see how it would wire up, but without trying to do it both at the
same time

> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-14603
> Project: Hadoop Common
> Issue Type: Sub-task
> Components: fs/s3, test
> Affects Versions: 2.8.1
> Reporter: Steve Loughran
> Priority: Minor
>
> S3AInputStream could support {{ByteBufferReadable, HasEnhancedByteBufferAccess}} and
the operations to read into byte buffers.
> This is only if we can see a clear performance benefit from doing this or the API is
being more broadly used
