I have added the debugging code the log4j properties and restarted the
cluster but could not see any DEBUG level data anywhere. Can anybody
point me to the location of the debug data?

And you should upgrade to at least 0.2.1 or even better at 0.18.1, I do
remember seeing temporary deadlocks in your version.
