Mostafa Mokhtar commented on HIVE-10561:
----------------------------------------

Even after "exit;" this still happens.

>                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-10561
>             Project: Hive
>          Issue Type: Bug

>
> When I run queries using
> {noformat}
> hive -f some_file.sql 2> stderr.log
> {noformat}
> and then ctrl-c the shell as it is running the file, Tez app does not exist and can be
seen in RUNNING state on yarn. Not sure if it happens every time, but it's frequent enough
and the sessions need to be killed off via yarn commands manually
