Sergio Peña commented on HIVE-8950:
-----------------------------------

Hi [~singhashish],

The patch looks good. Just one thing. The HIVE-10593 ticket is looking for a way to infer
a schema from different formats in Hive like your patch is doing it. However, we are looking
to make a syntax general for all formats, and also [~lskuff] has an opinion about the use
of the LOCATION keyword.

Could you give your opinion by commenting on HIVE-10593?

> PARQUET-76 and PARQUET-47 ask for creating parquet backed tables without having to specify
the column names and types. As, parquet files store schema in their footer, it is possible
to generate hive schema from parquet file's metadata. This will improve usability of parquet
backed tables.
