Subject [jira] [Commented] (HIVE-15322) Skipping "hbase mapredcp" in hive script for certain services
Date Thu, 01 Dec 2016 01:57:58 GMT

Daniel Dai commented on HIVE-15322:

Oh, didn't realize it before. However, --skiphbasecp should turn on by default for help, version,
orcfiledump, rcfilecat, schemaTool, cleardanglingscratchdir, metastore, beeline and llapstatus/llap
([~sershe], can you confirm?). I will update patch for it.

can take some time when the system is heavy loaded. In some extreme cases, we saw ~20s delay
due to it. For certain commands, such as "schemaTool", hbase classpath is certainly useless,
and we can safely skip invoking it.
