Subject [users@httpd] Redhat Generated httpd.conf
Date Sun, 01 Sep 2002 15:28:21 GMT
I have two (beginner) questions about httpd.conf that is generated by RH
7.3's apache configuration program.

1. The apache configuration tool doesn't respect my document types. If I
give it a list, say "index.php, index.htm, index.html" in the conf program
for a specific virtual host, save it (at which time it warns me it's going
to overwrite a manually configured file) and then check the generated
httpd.conf - there's no DirectoryIndex directive for the virtual host in
question - in fact it removes the existing one. What's the deal there?

2. I seem to have aquired duplicate <Directory> entries:

First one - near the top

><Directory "/var/www/cgi-bin">
>	Options ExecCGI
>	AllowOverride None
>	Allow from all
>	Order allow,deny

Second one at the bottom

><Directory "/var/www/cgi-bin">
> AllowOverride None
> Options ExecCGI
> Order allow,deny
> Allow from all

Any reason I couldn't just remove 1?
