Subject [users@httpd] Httpd dies with powerfailure message
Date Mon, 03 Mar 2003 18:49:22 GMT
Hello,

After tracing an httpd process ( strace -p ) we are getting this
message:

write(15, "[Sun Mar 2 10:34:58 2003] [noti"..., 82) = 82
wait4(-1, 0xbffff13c, WNOHANG, NULL) = 0
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {1, 0}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 986265}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 970641}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 956970}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 943299}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 929628}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 914004}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 902286}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 888615}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 876897}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) ---
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 865179}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be
restarted)
--- SIGPWR (Power failure) ---

After this the httpd daemon dies and needs to be restarted. There is
nothing funny running on the server, but we are not sure why the error
is being generated. Below are specs on the machine.

Has anyone seen this message below? We have recompiled many times and
still get the same error, if anyone has suggestions please let me know.

Adam Ryan
