Couple of ideas:

- switch on ScriptLog (see docs for details - main thing to watch; the
log should exist before starting apache and it should be owned by the
apache user, not root, like other logfiles). This will trap error
messages from the CGIs.

- make a very simple and test it. Does it die after 2
hits too?
