This works for me:

    RewriteRule ^(.*)\\(.*)$ $1/$2 [R]

That is, replace a URL that starts with X, then has a backslash, then
ends with Y with X then a forward slash then Y, and send back a
redirect to the browser.

This redirects them to the correctly named page, so each page has One
True Name (which will improve caching).
