Correct me if I'm wrong,

The best way is to use an Output Parameter to get your return value.
Its clearer since you declares the return data type with the parameter.

As for return value, I don't know if IBatis currently support it. I see
no need for it since you should always declare output parameter for
return value. I hardly use return value in my stored procedure; only on
occasion and it's usually for returning error number if I suppress the
error inside my stored procedure.

The way that I know how to do it is to provide a @RETURN_VALUE parameter
and set direction to ParameterDirection.ReturnValue. If you look at the
SqlMapConfig.xsd, there is no returnvalue; only input, output,
inputoutput for parameter direction.

Subject: RE: Stored Procedure Return Codes

I've looked through the docs and have searched online but still have not
been able to figure out how to get the RETURN value out of a SQL Server
stored procedure? Is there some special output parameter to handle
this?
I'm using the sqlmaps.

Thanks In Advance
Paul
