Subject [jira] [Commented] (OAK-1484) additional observation queue jmx attributes
Date Mon, 03 Mar 2014 10:24:20 GMT

Michael Dürig commented on OAK-1484:

Note that I changed the wording in the description slightly: there is no queue of events in
Oak. There is a queue of revisions waiting for being processed for differences. The differences
found will be converted to JCR Events, which are fired on the fly.

> additional observation queue jmx attributes
> -------------------------------------------
> Key: OAK-1484
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-1484
> Project: Jackrabbit Oak
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: commons
> Affects Versions: 0.17.1
> Reporter: Stefan Egli
> Assignee: Michael Dürig
> The following jmx attributes would be very useful to have, when debugging problems or
checking the health of observation listeners and queues at runtime:
> * length of an observation listener's revision queue
> * duration of stay of oldest revision in an observation listener's revision queue
> Especially the second point can be used to judge if an observation listener is 'healthy'
or not: eg if the duration is a few seconds, things are probably fine. If the duration is
over a minute, then that could raise a flag.
