Subject [jira] [Commented] (OAK-1484) additional observation queue jmx attributes
Date Tue, 18 Mar 2014 16:32:49 GMT

Michael Dürig commented on OAK-1484:

I think a better measure than the time in the queue would be the differences of the number
of the items in the queue between event deliveries as this would give an effective account
for whether the queue is growing or shrinking.

> Project: Jackrabbit Oak
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: commons
> Affects Versions: 0.17.1

> Fix For: 0.20
> The following jmx attributes would be very useful to have, when debugging problems or
checking the health of observation listeners and queues at runtime:
> * length of an observation listener's revision queue
> * duration of stay of oldest revision in an observation listener's revision queue
> Especially the second point can be used to judge if an observation listener is 'healthy'
or not: eg if the duration is a few seconds, things are probably fine. If the duration is
over a minute, then that could raise a flag.
