Hi Craig,

just realized that you had set-up a Jira issue to inform, very nice indeed!

To keep the pure e-mail-answer archived with this issue, I copy that e-mail here:

Hi Craig, hi Gavin, hi Henri,

thank you very much for all of your help!

So now Ant Elder (antelder), Nandika, Sanka, Sanjiva and myself should
be available as assignees and adding new issues to JIRA or changing
existing JIRA issues would send an e-mail copy to
<bsf-dev@jakarta.apache.org>? This would be just great!

Ad JIRA administrator role: if it could be granted to the group of
assignees then we should have never ever again a problem in managing the
JIRA issues. Would you have an URL handy which would give some sort of a
"crash-course" in administrating JIRA?

Sanka has two Jira accounts and so I have added the username 'Sanka' (rather than sanka@apache.org)
to the bsf-developers group. Sanjiva,Nandika and yourself has been added to the bsf-developers

most other projects have in place, using a group , besides I spotted this Issue 'after' I
had done the above.

following problems we have been facing:

However, it is unfortunately not possible to use this as the default assignee to issues, such
that each new entry or change to the status of a JIRA issue is automatically mailed to the
bsf-dev list, which is something very important for us!

list of possible assignees, even if they have JIRA accounts already. At least the following
important users are not showing up:

> Sanjiva Weerawarana (sanjiva@apache.org or sanjiva@opensource.lk)

the moment we are short of any alternatives. (E.g. how can we add/remove assignable users
for "our" JIRA realm, and the like.)
