"no route to host" error bounces mail back

Summary: "no route to host" error bounces mail back
           Product: James
           Version: 2.0a2
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: SMTPServer
        AssignedTo: james-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: giles@leafinternet.com

occasionally James will encounter a "no route to host" error when connecting to
the mail server for a message it is trying to send. Instead of trying again, it
gives up immediately, returning the email with "permanent error" status.
