An excellent example is at

It should give you a pretty good idea and a information on variations.
smtp client in commons should be good too but I like this python module
more.
Reading from test at end of file may be a good way to pick up the flow.


Another really simple example from protocol perspective may be

session?rev=1.1&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup
