Subject [jira] Commented: (JAMES-1202) Inconsistent STAT, UIDL, LIST results when using Outlook POP3 and a webmail/IMAP client
Date Wed, 02 Mar 2011 13:17:36 GMT

Patrick Pyette commented on JAMES-1202:

Yes 41 is the correct number. The listing from the telnet (actually openssl s_client) session
contains the responses when the commands are issued immediately after login. No other commands
were issued after successful authentication.

> Project: JAMES Server
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: POP3Server
> Affects Versions: 3.0-M3
> Environment: James 3.0M3 trunk (revision 1063252)
> Reporter: Patrick Pyette
> Attachments: JAMES-1202.telnet.txt, OutlookPOPError.png
> When account holders use both a web mail client (roundcube) and Outlook/POP3 to access
their mail, they regularly get the message from Outlook:
> "Your POP3 server is providing inconsistent information. The number of messages returned
by the STAT command does not match the number of items returned by the UIDL or LIST commands."
> It looks as if UIDL is returning the correct result, but STAT and LIST are not for some
