Subject [jira] [Commented] (IMAP-319) MS Outlook returns "UID does not comply with standard"
Date Thu, 01 Sep 2011 17:41:10 GMT

Patrick Pyette commented on IMAP-319:

I'd be happy to debug this further if someone would be willing to give me some pointers.
We're seeing this behaviour on Beta-3 as well although you have to send/receive about 6 messages
before it starts to show up. Once it does, the only way to get rid of it is to recreate the
mailbox, or delete all messages from all folders.

> MS Outlook returns "UID does not comply with standard"
> ------------------------------------------------------
> Key: IMAP-319
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMAP-319
> Project: JAMES Imap
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: JPA Mailbox
> Affects Versions: 0.3
> Environment: Running James Beta-1 and Beta-2. Linux CentOS 5.5 x86_64.
> Java 1.6.0_23: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode)
> Reporter: Patrick Pyette
> Attachments: MS Outlook UID Issue - No SSL.pcap, MS Outlook UID Issue.pcap
> When at some point, when sending and receiving email using an Outlook client on a newly-created
account, we receive the message:
> "Your server has reported a UID which does not comply with the IMAP standard....."
MsgSeqNum x, New UID y, Prev UID: x, Next UID: 0.".
> This is consistent and repeatable for any jpa mailbox that we have tried. Removing
the account from Outlook, restarting, and adding it back in does not clear the issue.
