Subject [jira] [Updated] (PROTOCOLS-104) POP3 RETR hangs on some messages when using Apple Mail
Date Sun, 10 Feb 2013 01:43:12 GMT

     [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PROTOCOLS-104?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel
]

Rustam Aliyev updated PROTOCOLS-104:
------------------------------------

    Attachment: pop3-apple-mail.pcap.gz

Attaching pcap dump of communication.

I'm not using James server. I'm implementing POP3 server using James Protocols. If I'm not
mistaken, protocols-pop3 doesn't do any parsing of the message itself.

Attached message may not comply with RFC, but this should not block client from downloading
that message.

> Some messages cause Apple Mail hang during RETR command. Outlook and Thunderbird both
can successfully download exactly same message. So the problem exhibits only when using Apple
Mail.
> Copy of the message which can be used to reproducing problem is attached. From description
this issue looks similar to JAMES-1222.
