------------------------------------

Is there any software design (and architecture) documentation for Apache James to help us
understand project relations, class relations, used technology stack, programming approach
and …?

> Store attachments out of the database

> Key: JAMES-2371
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-2371
> Project: James Server
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: MailStore & MailRepository
> Reporter: mostafa vtp
> Priority: Major
> Labels: storage
>
> I want to store email attachments on file system(directly or by calling a service to
do it) and save only text part of the message body in database.
> I know that in general, saving whole message body (including attachments) in database
is better But due to certain circumstances, I have to do it. And it may be useful for others
with limited storage space on database.
> We can implement it as a configurable feature.
> And if it is not accepted as a new feature, can anyone help me out how to do it?
> Thank you
