    FWIW, [this article](https://analyse-it.com/blog/2013/2/quantiles-percentiles-why-so-many-ways-to-calculate-them)
has two citations in favour of defaulting to what Wikipedia calls R-8 (though it notes R defaults
to R-7 for compatibility with S).  That's a decent argument for either of them, IMO.
