I tried stepping through the code, but could not find the source of the problem. Here is the
error that was thrown, but I don't think it's very helpful:

Supposing that C depends on A and B, when I manually add A and B, then C gets installed and
is activated. However, when I add C, expecting that A and B will get resolved, I get the above
error.
