Subject Renaming hostname of tserver/master
Date Tue, 30 Jan 2018 12:11:26 GMT
Hi! I have the cluster of 5 nodes: 5 tservers and 3 masters of Kudu 1.6.0.
Now I forced to rename each node of the cluster (change fqdn). I start
doing this on one tserver.
After fqdn was changed I start kudu-tserver process and got that error in
logs:

W0130 09:15:55.859527   167 heartbeater.cc:538] Failed to heartbeat to
master.example.com:7051: Remote error: Failed to send heartbeat to master:
Invalid argument: Tablet server 06b0d01448d240d588c0107cbffc7f61 is
attempting to re-register with a different host/port. This is not currently
supported. Old: {rpc_addresses { host: "old-tserver-name.example.com" port:
7050 } http_addresses { host: "old-tserver-name.example.com" port: 8050 }
software_version: "kudu 1.6.0 (rev non-git-build)" https_enabled: false}
New: {rpc_addresses { host: "new-tserver-name.example.com" port: 7050 }
http_addresses { host: "new-tserver-name.example.com" port: 8050 }
software_version: "kudu 1.6.0 (rev non-git-build)" https_enabled: false}

This is unpleasant surprise for me:)
How can I re-register this tserver? Can I do this without complete
re-replication of data?

And can I rename master nodes one by one?
