This is a tough one as changing the method called on error changes the behavior.  It would
seem to be 
innocuous, but could break an app that didn't expect the change.  The signature with the LoggingEvent

parameter should have been introduced on a new interface instead of added to an existing interface,
but 
that was long ago.
