Remko Popma commented on LOG4J2-875:
------------------------------------

Luigi, thanks for that information.

If you set {{<Configuration status="trace" >}} in the first line of your configuration
file, Log4j 2 will output debug information to the console. This includes initialization information,
as well as details of how Log4j processes a rollover.

Can you capture this output and post it here? I am not sure if the problem happens during
initialization or during rollover, so the full output would be best.

> A problem with slashes?
> does not work since version 2.0, but in rc1:
> filePattern = "C:\Server\Webapps\sql2008-test\WEB-INF/log/$\{ctx:remoteDnsName}/$\{ctx:log.uid}_app-%d\{yyyy-MM-dd}-%i.log"
> works:
> filePattern = "C:/Server/Webapps/sql2008-test/WEB-INF/log/$\{ctx:remoteDnsName}/$\{ctx:log.uid}_app-%d\{yyyy-MM-dd}-%i.log"
