Subject RolloingFileAppender - setMaxBackupIndex
Date Mon, 03 Dec 2001 23:34:52 GMT
According to the javadocs (extract below) for log4j v 1.1.3,
there is no way to have an unlimited number of backups.
0 =  no backups
1 .. n   = backup files

Is there a possibility of say -1 maning unlimited?
Or is there another workaround?

public void setMaxBackupIndex(int maxBackups)
  Set the maximum number of backup files to keep around.
  The MaxBackupIndex option determines how many backup files are kept before
the oldest is erased. This option takes a positive integer value. If set to
zero, then there will be no backup files and the log file will be truncated
when it reaches MaxFileSize.
