I'd not move it to Sandbox without a major release. I would suggest to fix it to not check
time on every, every access. As said a year ago, this might be much more horrible, e.g., on
MacOSX, where it uses a very slow variant of nanotime!

won't perform well or has the risk to not scale well in lucene core?
