Sort of off-topic, is there a way to do the reverse, ie: split indexes?

This could be useful for people that would like to move to sharding from one core and could
be interesting under SolrCloud.

You could copy each shard to a single node and then use the merge index feature to merge them
into one index and then start up a single Solr node on that. Use the same configs.
