Regarding 3;
You can do something like:

CloudSolrClient client = new CloudSolrClient("localhost:9983");

SolrParams params = new ModifiableSolrParams().add("q","*:*")
        .add("json.facet","{.....}");

QueryResponse response = client.query(params);

Setting key and value via SolrParams is available.
