Hi Vinayak,

If you have Mahout installed in a Hadoop cluster then you can stream the
data from your MySQL server to HDFS using Sqoop (
http://sqoop.apache.org/docs/1.4.3/SqoopUserGuide.html) as suggested by
Andrew.

Otherwise you can create a MySQLJDBC data model and directly use it from
within Mahout:
http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh4/cdh/4/mahout-0.7-cdh4.6.0/mahout-integration/org/apache/mahout/cf/taste/impl/model/jdbc/MySQLJDBCDataModel.html
