IMHO, the plugin should itself cleanup after its execution and not rely on shutdown hooks
for the reason given in [Common Bugs and Pitfalls - Using Shutdown Hooks|http://maven.apache.org/plugin-developers/common-bugs.html#Using_Shutdown_Hooks].
